Our awesome yet scary planet!
haha earthquakes are scary! i live right on the san andreas fault line and there are always saying how we are ‘overdue’ for a big earthquake!
I just remember feeling an earthquake in my home just outside Toronto and it was because an Earthquake happened in the Pacific Ocean 5000 kms away…Craziness
i love me some natgeo and I also have a morbid fascination with mother natures fury with tornadoes, tsunamis, hurricains and volcanos
A healthy beard is one of the best ways to protect yourself from falling earthquake debris.
Your pfp and name is actually cursed
I learned this in school some months ago x)
No it was 10 years ago
Is it safer outside or under a table? I’ve always wondered that.
Have fun dealing with the facade breaking apart and droping large chunks on your head. Best thing to do is get under a sturdy desk or table and hold on to it. If you are in bed, the advice I heard was stay in it unless you have a huge book shelf nearby or something else in the room that can come down on you there.
To be fair, disasters can strike when we are most expecting and prepared too. That being said, I am glad I live in a fairly disaster-free zone (unless you count the economy).
whoa! i find earthquakes fascinating. but if one were to happen in Toronto, i would be so freaked out.
srsly! :O
I live in Arizona and I was in Yuma when the earthquake in Mexio went off. It was on easter day this year. There was skaing and my aunt got all scared thinking that California was breaking off! Lol
@Dreambro1 Yes, major earthquakes like the California’s 7.4M Landers earthquake in June 1992 for example has caused new faults. It was felt from Landers, Ca, to as far as Pheonix, AZ and Las Vegas,NV.
It is so important to stay prepared.
We humans know how to stay prevented from diseases but why we just least care about nature’s horrifying sudden attacks?
We all should give it a thought. Isn’t it?
I live through a Earthquake yesterday <3
Congratulations, you survived. You probably survived a few more.
I think the San Andres fault is one of the most beautiful landscapes on Earth, it is unique and the shapes are wavy, like nothing else in the glove and also hides a danger so big between it that makes it even more alluring.
It did have a earthquake here in Trinidad last night (Trinidad time), a 6.1 magnitude tremor centered above Paria Peninsula on Venezuela.
also caused by a nokia dropped on the earth…
hahahaha😂
