We’re nothing but ticks over the Earth, the planet can totally get along without any humans.
Most of the content here was excellent. However, you failed to mention that the 1964 Alaska quake sent a tsunami into Crescent City, California, killing twelve people and destroying much of the town.
By the way, I recommend to anyone a visit to Alaska and see Earthquake Park. It’s located on the Turnagain Arm, mentioned in the video, where a village once stood. Here, you can see what mother nature’s wrath can inflict upon geography and humanity.
Well, nowhere are we free of earthquakes, as the New Madrid earthquake event proved. On the positive side, several scientists predict that the offshore African islands are due a quake, or subsidence, the resulting tsunami would(will?) strike between the Carolinas and Cape May(NJ) with significant ‘effects’…
And it shifted with the last Tsunami ‘s we have had. 1.8 do the math against gravitational pull. Its the depths that are giving us a clue to some things.
Earthquakes are definitely not the most violent natural disaster. As a environmental scientist I can say things such as tornadoes and hurricanes are much more violent
Clearly the earth is not rotating on its mythical axis
Humans: “we have top industry, top computers and top technology, we have top power”.
Mother Nature: ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, just a moment please…..”.
Human disasters and natural disasters are like a game of chess.
Humans: I’m going to destroy you
Nature: you’re dreaming.

The number 1 stringest you never gave a mag number. Said first was 8.1 and next 2 were stronger. Tol heught if tsunamis but no mention of eq mag…very frustrating
It was 9.5 Richter and it last more than 9 minutes.
I was in a earthquake in cataignan, philippines magnitude 6.7 and it was really scarry
With that magnitude here in Chile, we just go back to sleep XD
@sebastian bueno cardemil yeh sure you do, tell me some more bull$hit
@Mr. Anderson not kidding, just search Chilean earthquake reaction.
@Mr. Anderson It’s true that’s super low for us
@Infra Games hahaaaa sure
I didn’t like putting a thumbs up because of the loss of life but I mean it as a informative article.
What a powerful earthquake!… How much destruction it has caused!
Nice information thanks
The safest place to be during a quake I guess would be in an airplane in the sky because the pilot can revert to another city.
The strongest one causee volcano eruptions. You aint safe, even in the sky. Just stay away from volcanic places and the shores.
I was in Haiti in 2010. Scariest thing I’ve ever experienced.
Just imagining some guy seeing a tsunami headed his way and pulling out his tape measure
